Gilles Bonnecarrère is a French photographer born in 1953. He lived in New York in the mid-1970s, before moving to Brazil where he stayed for nearly thirty years. In 2013, Éditions Lutanie and Préféré co-published the book Male Dancers Wanted, which brings together an unpublished series of black-and-white photographs taken in a New York strip club in 1976. He now lives in Paris.
